Hi there! I'm Catherine, the author of Smiley Central.

I have always been excited to write and English has always been my favourite subject so when I found out how to start a blog I got right into it with no messing around. I dove straight into the deep end without a clue of how to swim. I wouldn't say I'm an Olympic swimmer just yet, but hey, I haven't drowned.

I'm part of an amazing Google+ Community called Beau Bloggers. It was started in September of 2014 by the lovely Lauren Williams author of Loveheart Doodles. One of my lovely blogging friends, Izzy, author of Izzy K, Izzy K Reviews & More and creator of the channel Izzy K posted a video on YouTube called 'Beau Bloggers Needs YOU', this video inspired me to join Beau Bloggers. I have said it so many times and I'll say it again - joining Beau Bloggers is the best decision I have made in my blogging career.

My Dad died in September of 2015 and although this is the worst thing that has ever happened to me, I'm always searching for positives in the hardest times of my life and the DSLR camera that I inherited was one of those positives. I had always wanted to start a YouTube channel, I have the confidence but I didn't have the equipment. When I got this camera I knew it was time to start a channel. I filmed random videos occasionally but I didn't post them, mainly because I hadn't gotten around to starting a channel at that point. Near the end of December I was really serious about the whole YouTube thing so I filmed my first video and decided that New Years Day would be the perfect day to start and I was just lucky that New Year was so close! I'm still starting out with YouTube but I think it's easier for me to start because of the ongoing support from my amazing blogging friends.

I know I have a lot to learn about blogging but I'm enjoying myself and maybe even helping some of you feel happier or more inspired.
